Espace Louis Vuitton TokyoRina Banerjee “You made me leave home...Opening Commemorative Artist Talk

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition “You made me leave home… and the artist’s visit to Japan, an artist talk will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Hillside Plaza (Daikanyama Hillside Terrace). The conversation will feature Rina Banerjee in dialogue with Yasufumi Nakamori, independent curator and curatorial adviser to the exhibition.

Banerjee has, since the late 1990s, consistently explored themes of bodies and narratives that traverse boundaries. Her work has been presented in numerous major international exhibitions, including the Busan Biennale and the Venice Biennale. Her works are also held in the collections of leading institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
In 2025, Nakamori curated “(Re)Generations” at the Asia Society in New York, in which Banerjee participated.

In this talk, Banerjee’s ideas behind the exhibition, the background of her artistic practice, and her recent activities will be explored in depth through a dialogue with Nakamori, who has previously organized exhibitions featuring her work. It will be a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artist about her creative process.
