Trailblazer and consultant \u2018Art & Mental Health\u2019 Jolien Posthumus advocates the positive impact of art in mental health approaches, with a focus on prevention and resilience. With a background as neuro sensitive mindfulness therapist in psychological care, she collaborates with organizations worldwide that want to commit to the Societal Mental Health Challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Posthumus was appointed as the first Program Manager Mental Health in a Dutch museum: 2022 EMYA winner Museum of the Mind\uff08Museum van de Geest\uff09. She also plays a key role in the Van Gogh Museum\u2019s initiative \u2018Open up with Vincent\u2019 and advised the pioneering Dutch project \u2018Museum on Prescription\u2019. Drawing on the latest scientific insights, she develops Art interventions, Art Meditations and Mindful Spaces. As sought-after speaker she globally shares insights on NeuroArts, psycho-education and post-traumatic growth and trains teams in working Mental Health-Focused and Trauma Informed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a guest of CAT (Collective Amazements Troupe)\u2014a Netherlands-Japan project exploring mental health through artistic experiences with diverse children and youth\u2014she led expression workshops incorporating ambient music and meditation. She also gave lectures and facilitated art appreciation workshops for adults as part of AIT\u2019s TOTAL ARTS STUDIES program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
